Description
French first Empire period Secretaire à Abattant, also known as a drop-front secretary, fall front or cantilevered desk. The cabinet is flanked by columns adorned with finely cast bases and etched bronze capitals. Under the dark grey marble top is a secret, entablature drawer. The front opens to reveal several drawers, a column theatre and a writing surface. More compartments are hidden behind the columns and drawers. The base of the cabinet features two doors and shelf.
